Divorce Mediation

The mediation center at Sirote & Permutt handles many types of alternate dispute resolution, including divorce mediation. This form of mediation allows divorcing spouses to negotiate an acceptable agreement with assistance from a neutral third party. In this role, Sirote divorce mediators enhance the communications process between spouses and negotiate but do not make any decisions for them.

Using mediation in a determining a divorce settlement is typically a more cost-effective solution that may result in a more solid agreement than using the more traditional court system. When it is important to preserve a working relationship with a former spouse, due to the presence of children, for example, divorce mediation can help to ensure better communication and future interactions.
