Mediation
Since 1995, Sirote Mediation Centers have been in the forefront of the ADR revolution both within the state of Alabama and across the nation. Anchored by three full-time, nationally recognized mediators located in our Birmingham Center, our mediation team also includes 16 other qualified mediators located in our three offices across the state.
Our mediators not only actively facilitate the mediation, but they also assist the attorneys and their clients in the design of the mediations. Over the last ten years, their techniques have resulted in resolving over 95% of the more than 7,500 cases mediated and two of the Sirote Mediation team have been acknowledged as top volume mediators in the state. Our mediators have also been selected for national class actions and multi-party cases, as well as public and private disputes of all complexities.

Mediation involves an independent third party helping disputing parties to resolve their dispute. The disputants, not the mediator, decide the terms of the agreement. The mediator has an important role, however, in 'reality testing' any agreement, ie in checking carefully that the parties are able to do what they agree to do.
Mediation is now widely recognised in the UK and Europe as the most popular form of alternative dispute resolution as it offers solutions beyond those that a court could ordinarily impose. It is increasingly used in commercial, personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
Family mediation helps those involved in family breakdown to communicate better with one another and reach their own decisions about children, property and finance.
