Now in his twenty-second year at Sirote, Jim handles all phases of commercial litigation, with a particular focus on life and disability insurance litigation, representation of banks and mortgage companies, construction litigation and all forms of commercial litigation on behalf of both individuals and businesses. Jim serves as a first-chair litigator, representing his clients in state and federal courts, in both jury and ERISA/non-jury trials. Jim handles all phases of litigation, from pre-suit through discovery and trial. Jim also works on appeals in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Jim has represented clients in hundreds of arbitrations involving both group and individual insurance policies, as well as commercial business disputes. Jim recently won two jury verdicts, first obtaining and collecting a multiple six-figure jury verdict in a commercial construction case, and later by receiving a jury verdict in favor of his client, as well as an attorney’s fee award, in a case where he represented a national mortgage servicer in a case with allegations of wrongful foreclosure. |
