Tim's practice concentrates on trademark prosecution and enforcement. He works in the federal and state registration of trademarks, the licensing of trademark rights, and the protection of trademarks against infringement, including domain name and internet-related disputes. He also counsels clients on copyright registration, protection, and licensing, as well as software licensing. Additionally, Tim advises in the areas of franchise disclosure compliance and franchisor/ franchisee disputes. His practice includes the formation of exempt organizations, the IRS exemption process, and exempt organization operational issues.

  • Reviewed and negotiated computer software agreements, Internet related contracts, and domain name disputes on behalf of clients such as Great Southern Wood, Macess, SunGard and Verilink Corporation
  • In tax exemption area, formed and advised numerous tax-exempt organizations including Bruno's Memorial Classic, Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation and University of Alabama Health Services Foundation
  • Extensive experience in the areas of trademark and service mark registration and protection, as well as trade dress protection
  • Works in the franchise law area, representing the Sneaky Pete's franchise system, the sub franchisor of the Dairy Queen system in Alabama and Northwest Florida and a variety of local franchisees of other franchise systems

  • In trademark practice, represented Auburn University, Sneaky Pete's, Great Southern Wood Preserving, RealtySouth, Axcan Scandipharm, Space Camp and Tiffin Motor Homes
