Sirote's David Wooldridge Will Present ASCPA Tax Webinar

The law firm of Sirote & Permutt, PC is please to present a webinar series about tax legal issues for the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA).
In collaboration with ASCPA, Sirote shareholder David Wooldridge will present “Taxpayer Penalties and Avenues for Relief from Them,” on Friday, Sept. 14. Mr. Wooldridge will discuss the rules under which tax penalties can apply and the ways in which taxpayers may defend or avoid them.

Mr. Wooldridge represents clients in tax controversy cases involving both the IRS and Alabama Department of Revenue. Most recently, his legal practice has emphasized the defense of conservation easements, such as the landmark Kiva Dunes case in U.S. Tax Court. During his 34 years with Sirote, Mr. Wooldridge’s practice has included tax planning, state and local tax issues, family succession and business planning, shareholder oppression, and director and fiduciary liability issues. From 1992-99, Mr. Wooldridge served as Sirote & Permutt’s Managing Partner.
Sirote’s Corporate & Tax Group represents many clients in controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and various state taxing authorities. Our representation includes audits, settlement negotiations and abatement proceedings, as well as tax litigation before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Claims Court, and the U.S. District Courts and Courts of Appeals.
