Sirote & Permutt Hosts a Free Seminar About Health Care Law
The law firm of Sirote & Permutt, PC is pleased to present an educational seminar about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its impact on businesses and individuals alike. David Randall of UAB Health System is the keynote speaker and will assess the ACA’s effect in Birmingham. Sirote attorneys Lenora Pate, Cynthia Ransburg-Brown, Ronald Levitt, Maples Jay and Andy Andrews will discuss employer related issues such as auto enrollment, the Cadillac tax and non-discrimination rules, as well as choice of entity concerns for businesses.
The seminar will take place at 10 am on May 7, 2013, at Vulcan Park and Museum. The speakers will provide valuable information for business leaders, accountants and professionals who are affected by the ACA laws.
About David Randall
Randall is Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development at UAB Health System. Randall joined the Health System in 2004 to provide strategic support to the hospital and its affiliates. Most recently, he led a planning process to identify strategic initiatives aimed at making UAB Medicine the preferred academic medical center of the 21st Century (AMC21). Prior to joining UAB, Randall served as a health care consultant who helped academic medical center clients address financial, strategic and operational issues. Randall holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
About Lenora W. Pate
Pate chairs the Health Care Law practice at Sirote & Permutt. She advises health care providers, institutions, practices, professionals, businesses and related associations on their business and legal needs, including federal and state regulatory issues. Additionally, she has significant experience in the areas of government and public policy, including state certificates of need, licensure, and state and federal health care legislative and regulatory matters. Pate, a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney is also listed in the Best Lawyers in America for Health Care Law. Additionally, she is active in statewide government issues and is a former Director of the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations. About Cynthia Ransburg-Brown
Ransburg-Brown is a member of the Health Care Law practice at Sirote & Permutt. She advises numerous physicians, physician groups and health care organizations on matters involving regulatory issues, entity formation and operations. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Health Care Law at the UAB School of Health Related Professions. Ransburg-Brown is listed in Best Lawyers in America for Health Care Law. About Ronald Levitt

He earned his LLM in Taxation from New York University, his JD from the University of Alabama School of Law and his BS from Auburn University.
About Andy Andrews
Andrews practices with the Corporate & Tax group and Health Care Law group at Sirote. He advises clients in the areas of general business, tax and health care regulatory issues.
