Sirote's Katherine N. Barr to Moderate Special Needs Panel at ABA Symposia

Sirote & Permutt attorney Katherine N. Barr will serve as a Program Chair and Moderator for a panel at the 24th Annual American Bar Association (ABA) Spring Symposia. Barr will lead a group of special needs trust practitioners in a discussion about current issues and important updates affecting special needs trusts.

The Symposia is sponsored by the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the ABA and will take place May 2-3, 2013, in Washington, DC.

About Katherine N. Barr
A member of the law firm’s Estate, Wills & Trusts department, Barr handles all aspects of estate planning and administration for clients. Her passion, however, and the focus of much of her practice involves special needs planning. She assists clients in providing for a child or family member with special needs in a way that does not jeopardize government benefits. She also assists when a person with a disability will receive a personal injury settlement or an inheritance and needs to keep SSI or Medicaid. Barr is a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney and is listed in Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates Law. Barr is a member of Special Needs Alliance and The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
