Sirote & Permutt Attorney Don Wright Elected to Mid-South Commercial Law Institute Board of Directors
Sirote & Permutt shareholder Donald M. Wright has been elected to serve a 5-year term on the Board of Directors for the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute. Wright, who chairs the law firm’s Consumer Bankruptcy Department, is the first individual elected to the board who is not a lawyer or judge in the state of Tennessee.

For more than 30 years, the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute has conducted annual continuing legal education (CLE) seminars focused on commercial and bankruptcy law. Based in Nashville, Tenn., the seminars provide access to leading scholars, jurists and practitioners, and they attract attorneys from across the Southeast. The Board of Directors is responsible for providing content for the seminars so that they remain authoritative, comprehensive and timely.
ABOUT DONALD M. WRIGHT
Wright’s legal practice focuses on the representation of national, regional and local mortgage lenders and servicers, as well as other types of secured creditors in consumer bankruptcy cases. He handles a wide variety of commercial litigation in state and federal court, and also pre-litigation matters that routinely arise in bankruptcy proceedings or that involve creditors’ rights/creditor liability issues. The AV rated Martindale-Hubbell attorney is also listed in Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor Rights Law, Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Bankruptcy Litigation. Wright serves on the Board of Directors for the Law Firm Alliance and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Commercial Law League of America and the Turnaround Management Association. Prior to practicing law, Wright was a Captain in the United States Army where he served from 1976-82. He earned his JD from the University of Tennessee and his BS from Tennessee Technological University.
