Sirote Attorney David Wooldridge to Speak about "Tax Planning with Conservation Easements"
Sirote & Permutt shareholder David Wooldridge will speak at the Strafford seminar “Tax Planning with Conservation Easements” on March 7. He and other panelists will discuss the tax advantages of and how to structure conservation easements, as well as recent developments in case law.
Mr. Wooldridge represents clients in tax controversy cases involving both the IRS and Alabama Department of Revenue. Most recently, his legal practice has emphasized the defense of conservation easements, such as the landmark Kiva Dunes case in U.S. Tax Court. During his 35 years with Sirote, Mr. Wooldridge’s practice has included tax planning, state and local tax issues, family succession and business planning, shareholder oppression, and director and fiduciary liability issues. From 1992-99, Mr. Wooldridge served as Sirote & Permutt’s Managing Partner.
Sirote’s Corporate and Tax Groups represent many clients in controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and various state taxing authorities. Our representation includes audits, settlement negotiations and abatement proceedings, as well as tax litigation before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Claims Court, and the U.S. District Courts and Courts of Appeals.
