Ronald Levitt Speaks on Current Topics Affecting S-Corporations
BIRMINGHAM, ALA — Nov. 21, 2011 — Attorney Ronald A. Levitt is a national speaker on business and tax planning issues at Sirote & Permutt. Levitt’s most recent presentation on “Current Issues Affecting S-Corporations” was held at the University of Alabama’s 65th Federal Tax Clinic on Nov. 17, 2011, at the Bryant Conference Center. The topics included recent and proposed legislative changes, the impact of tax rates on choice of entity issues, developments in built-in gains tax rules and other issues that accounts and lawyers see in the day to day representation of S corporations.
Levitt also spoke on these issues at the Birmingham Tax Forum, which was held at the Summit Club in September 2011. These topics took center stage again in November 2011 at the Chattanooga Convention Center for the Chattanooga Tax Practitioners conference. Levitt has received an overwhelming response from attendees who want more information about what they can do in light of recent developments in the tax industry.
Levitt’s practice focuses on planning and defending conservation easements, as well as federal and state tax controversy matters. Additionally, Levitt handles business and tax planning issues, particularly for closely held and family owned businesses. He counsels clients in business planning, succession planning, entity formation, representation of S Corporations, Limited Liability Companies and other flow-through entities, mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of businesses, and healthcare law in which he represents physician practices, as well as estate planning for business owners.
