Ronald Levitt and David Wooldridge to Present at Conservation Easement Conference
Sirote & Permutt attorneys David M. Wooldridge and Ronald A. Levitt will present a class on conservation easements at the Alabama Realtors Land Institute’s Fall Conference. The conference will be held November 1 at the Historic Cahaba Pump Station in Birmingham, Ala.
Mr. Wooldridge's practice is focused on tax litigation and tax controversy cases, involving both the IRS and Alabama Department of Revenue. Most recently, he has had a particular emphasis on defending conservation easements, such as the landmark Kiva Dunes case in US Tax Court. During his 31 years with Sirote, Mr. Wooldridge’s practice has included tax planning, state and local tax issues, family succession and business planning, shareholder oppression, and director and fiduciary liability issues. He was the Managing Partner of Sirote & Permutt from 1992-99.
Mr. Levitt’s practice focuses on planning and defending conservation easements and federal and state tax controversy matters. Additionally, Mr. Levitt focuses on business and tax planning issues, particularly for closely held and family owned businesses. Specifically, he counsels clients in business planning, succession planning, entity formation, representation of S Corporations, Limited Liability Companies and other flow-through entities, mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of businesses, and healthcare law in which he represents physician practices, as well as estate planning for business owners.
