Sirote & Permutt's Woodall to be Featured Speaker at National Law Day Event
Thomas A. Woodall, a shareholder at the law firm of Sirote & Permutt, P.C., will be a featured speaker at the National Law Day public event in downtown Birmingham, Ala. on May 1, 2014, from 11:30 – 1 p.m.
The program, “Judicial Selection in Alabama” will take place at the Tutwiler Hotel and will discuss topics related to the election of judges in Alabama. National Law Day was made an annual event in 1961 and designates May 1 as its official day of celebration.
Woodall is Chair of the law firm’s Appellate Practice Group. In 2000, Woodall was elected to the Supreme Court of Alabama, serving a 6-year term and winning re-election in 2006. In February 1996, Governor Fob James appointed Justice Woodall as a Circuit Court Judge in Jefferson County. He was elected to that position in 1998, after running unopposed. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia, School of Law and graduated magna cum laude from Millsaps College.
Justice Woodall is a Fellow of both the Alabama Law Foundation and the Birmingham Bar Foundation and is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Eta Sigma and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has also served on several committees of the Birmingham Bar Association, including its Executive Committee.
