Jim Sturdivant to Serve on Executive Board for Boy Scouts of America
Sirote’s Jim Sturdivant has been selected to serve on the Executive Board of the Greater Alabama Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Sturdivant is an Assistant Scout Master with Troop Four in Vestavia Hills; two of his sons are active in Troop Four. He accompanied a crew of eight scouts and one other adult as they completed a ten day backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in July, 2009.
After the induction ceremony, Mr. Sturdivant commented:
“I am extremely honored to work with the Boy Scouts of America on the Executive Board. This year we celebrate 100 years as an organization carrying out the mission of serving the public of this great country with Scouting values. We have celebrated over two million Eagle Scouts nation-wide in this first 100 years and I look forward to working with the Boy Scouts to continue the positive impact of the largest and greatest youth movement in our country.”
Mr. Sturdivant is an active member of the community serving on the Boards of Parent Advocates Down Syndrome, The Exceptional Foundation, and the Seasoned Performers, an amateur drama group for seniors and retirees. A former federal prosecutor, he is a shareholder attorney with a white collar, general litigation and criminal practice.
