Katherine Barr Featured Speaker at American Bar Association Meeting
Sirote’s Katherine Barr was a featured speaker at the Joint Fall CLE Meeting of the American Bar Association's Section of Taxation and Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law in Toronto. Ms. Barr's presentation included the top 15 tips that tax and estate planners need to know about special needs trusts. Ms. Barr has long been active in the leadership of the American Bar Association and she currently serves as Supervisory Council Member of the Trust and Estate Section. Ms. Barr was recently selected for recognition in The Best Lawyers in America for 2011. She advises clients in planning their estates to accomplish their goals for distribution of assets to beneficiaries while minimizing estate tax liability. Ms. Barr is a frequent speaker at national, state and local professional education seminars presenting topics related to special needs trusts, planning for the disabled, estate planning and estate administration. Ms. Barr is on the Board of Directors for VSA Alabama, the State Organization on Arts and Disability and she previously served on the Boards of Camp ASCCA, Alabama's special camp for children and adults, and Parent Advocates of Down Syndrome Group (PADS).
