Sirote's Bush And Hardin To Be Panel Members At Small Business Conference

Sirote attorneys Timothy A. Bush and Peter J. Hardin will participate in a panel of experts at the 2009 Advising the Small Business Conference. Panel members will share their experiences representing small business in Alabama. Mr. Bush will focus on the protection of intellectual property, and Mr. Hardin will explore current trends in early stage financing. This conference will take place May 1 at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center.
Mr. Bush and Mr. Hardin are in the Corporate & Tax Practice Group at Sirote & Permutt. The firm’s tax section is one of the largest in the Southeast, assisting clients throughout Alabama and the Southeast in coping with a broad range of local, state and federal tax laws.
Mr. Bush is experienced in the areas of trademark and service mark registration and protection, as well as trade dress protection. During the span of his career, he has reviewed and negotiated computer software agreements, Internet-related contracts and domain name disputes on behalf of clients such as Great Southern Wood, Macess, SunGard and Verilink Corporation. Mr. Bush earned his LLM in Taxation from the University of Florida, his JD from the University of Alabama School of Law and a BS from Auburn University.
Mr. Hardin regularly represents companies in connection with both public and private securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions and financings, as well as businesses in all stages of development that are engaged in a wide variety of industries, such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, telecommunications, software, computer hardware, Internet, health care and banking industries. Mr. Hardin received his JD from Cumberland School of Law and his BS from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
