Sirote & Permutt Shareholder Jack Neal Installed as President of Birmingham Bar Association
Sirote & Permutt Shareholder George M. "Jack" Neal, Jr. has been installed as President of the Birmingham Bar Association for 2009. At Sirote & Permutt, Neal's practice consists of General and Commercial Civil Litigation as well as serving as a Mediator and Arbitrator in resolving the disputes of parties in Alternative Dispute Resolution . He is the former Chair of both the firm's Litigation Department and Commercial Department and previously served on the firm's Executive and Compensation Committees.
Jack follows in the footsteps of Sirote founder Edward Friend and current Shareholder Mason Davis, who both have served as Birmingham Bar Association Presidents, in 1971 and 1985 respectively.

In addition to his Birmingham Bar Association involvement, Neal is presently serving in his second three year term as a Bar Commissioner of the Alabama State Bar for the 10th Judicial Circuit of Jefferson County. He is also a trustee of the Alabama Bar Foundation, a member of a State Bar Disciplinary and Character & Fitness Appeals Panel, a member of the Atticus Finch Society, a member of the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees, and a member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham.
Neal earned his bachelors degree from the University of Alabama and his JD from Cumberland School of Law. Neal and his wife Carolyn live in the Forest Park Section of Birmingham.
