Sirote & Permutt Adds Five Attorneys in Litigation, Tax, Mediation and Family Law

Alabama law firm Sirote & Permutt, P.C. announces the addition of Barry Ragsdale, Rebecca Redmond, Greg Rhodes, Allison Skinner, and Steve Tandet to its professional staff in the firm’s Birmingham office.

Barry Ragsdale is an established litigator in the Birmingham market. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association, and he served as a member of the Judicial Liaison Committee for the Birmingham Bar association from 2006 to 2008. Currently, he is a member of the Alabama State Bar Board of Bar Examiners and the Alabama Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure as well as chairing the Business Torts and Antitrust Section of the Alabama State Bar. Ragsdale received a B.A. degree from the University of Alabama in 1983, earning cum laude honors, and went on to graduate with a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Alabama’s law school in 1985.

Rebecca Redmond joins Sirote’s REO and Foreclosure practice. Ms. Redmond is a member of the Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations and is also part of a network of leaders known as the Blackburn Fellows developed through the University of Alabama’s Blackburn institute. She graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama in 2001 and received her J.D. from the University of Alabama in 2004, serving as an Honor Court Justice and as a member of the Bench & Bar Honor Society while in law school.

Greg Rhodes joins Sirote as a tax attorney. He is a former associate at Glover Russell in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Rhodes earned a bachelors of business administration from Millsaps College and graduated magna cum laude with a JD degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. In May of 2008, he received his LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law.

Allison Skinner joins Sirote & Permutt’s Mediation Center. She is registered as a trial and appellate mediator by the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution. She formerly served as the administrative partner for the Birmingham office of a regional law firm for eight years. Ms. Skinner is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association as well as the Association’s Young Lawyers Executive Committee and Women’s Section Newsletter Committee. She graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1991 and received her J.D. degree from Alabama’s School of Law in 1994. While in law school, Ms. Skinner was awarded the George Peach Taylor Trial Advocacy Award and was a member of the Bench & Bar Legal Honor Society. She clerked for the Honorable Judge Sharon G. Yates, Alabama Court of Civil Appeals.

Steve Tandet's practice will focus on family law litigation. Mr. Tandet has served as the General Counsel and Director of Finance for a regional real estate developer as well as the Chief Financial Officer for a national real estate developer. He has been a certified public accountant since 1981 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Alabama and Birmingham Societies of CPAs and is currently the Treasury of the Pine Tree Country Club. He received of B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois in 1981 and went on to receive his M.P.A. from the University of Texas in 1985. In 2003, he also received his J.D. degree from the Birmingham School of Law.
