Lenora Pate Quoted in ABA Journal Article on Alabama Constitution Reform
Sirote & Permutt shareholder Lenora Pate was quoted in the March 2015 edition of the ABA Journal in an article about Alabama constitutional reform. Pate, who chairs the Health Care Consulting practice at Sirote & Permutt, also serves as chair of Alabama Citizens for Constitutional Reform, Inc. (ACCR) a statewide grassroots citizens’ organization which advocates for reform of Alabama’s 1901 Constitution and a new just Constitution for Alabama.
In the ABA Journal, Pate shares her insights on why the length and complexity of the Alabama 1901 Constitution makes passing local ordinances on health, safety, zoning and taxes so difficult. Pate also sheds light on the future tactics and efforts of ACCR as the Alabama legislature opens its 2015-2018 legislative session.
At Sirote & Permutt, Pate advises all types of health care providers, institutions, practices, professionals, businesses and related associations on their business legal needs, including federal and state regulatory issues. Additionally, she has significant experience in the areas of government and public policy, including state certificate of need, licensure, and state and federal health care legislative and regulatory matters.
