Maurice Shevin, shareholder at Sirote & Permutt, P.C., will speak on CFPB compliance on July 22 at the Mississippi Consumer Finance Association 57th Annual Convention in Destin, Fla.
Shevin regularly speaks on the topics of consumer finance and the CFPB, with his most recent presentation taking place in June 4 in Atlanta, Ga., There he spoke at the 17th National Association of Consumer Credit Administrators/American Financial Services Association State Government Affairs & Legal Issues Joint Forum on “CFPB Potential Small Dollar Credit Rule: An Industry Perspective.”
A member of the firm’s Banking & Finance practice group, Shevin focuses his practice on advising consumer finance companies regarding compliance with federal and state laws. He also advises finance and consumer credit clients with respect to federal and state consumer credit protection laws, rules and regulations. Shevin serves as counsel for trade associations, financial institutions and business clients, and he assists clients in legislative analysis and drafting, financing, and the purchase and sale of businesses and business assets.
