Sirote & Permutt Attorneys Liz Hutchins and Andy Andrews to Speak at 2014 Alabama Money Expo
Sirote & Permutt attorneys Liz Hutchins and Bruce “Andy” Andrews will speak at the Financial Education Outreach’s 2014 Alabama Money Expo on Feb. 1, 2014, at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center in Birmingham, Ala.
Hutchins will make her first appearance at the expo at 12:10 p.m. – 1 p.m. for the program titled “Ultimate Financial Planning: Estate, Retirement & Investment.” She will discuss developing a clear strategy to protect and preserve assets for your future and your family.
Hutchins will be joined by Andrews for a program titled “Tax Planning & Strategies 201,” from 2:10 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. During this discussion, panelists will give guidance for addressing tax issues including: retirement plans, the Affordable Care Act, estate planning and strategies for entrepreneurs.
Hutchins is chair of the firm’s Estates, Wills & Trusts department. Her practice includes planning for the management and distribution of clients’ estates to accomplish their goals and to minimize estate taxes using sophisticated estate planning tools and techniques. She counsels business owners regarding succession planning. In probate administration, she assists in the orderly distribution of estate assets and planning for estate and income tax issues. Hutchins also works with clients to accomplish effective charitable giving and establishes both public and private tax-exempt, charitable entities. Hutchins is Alabama State Chair for the American College of Trusts and Estate Counsel and serves on the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Central Alabama, is Vice President of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham and is past President of the Alabama Planned Giving Council.
Andrews practices with the firm’s Corporate & Tax and Health Care groups, advising clients about tax, business and health care regulatory issues. Andrews earned his J.D. degree from The University of North Carolina School of Law. He also earned a Master of Accounting degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School and a his B.A. degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During law school, he served on the board of directors of the Samaritan Health Center in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to law school, Andrews worked as a CPA, practicing in the tax group of a national accounting firm.
