Sirote & Permutt Attorneys to Speak at 99th Alabama Society of CPAs Annual Meeting in Montgomery, Alabama, on June 14
Sirote & Permutt, P.C., is pleased to announce that attorneys Ronald Levitt and Gregory Rhodes will present at the 99th Alabama Society of CPAs Annual Meeting on June 14 at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.
Sirote Attorney Ronald Levitt will address “A Volcano of Hot Issues Under The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.” Because the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act resulted in the most significant overhaul of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) in more than 30 years, Ronald Levitt will heighten critical awareness of a number of changes affecting individuals, pass-through entities and C corporations, including how the 20% deduction under new IRC Section 199A for qualified businesses affects individuals, trust, and estates.
Sirote Attorney Gregory Rhodes will heighten awareness on the new partnership audit rules. The new rules dramatically change the way partnership audits will be conducted and the party responsible for the audit, as well as the parties responsible for any resulting adjustment. Greg will provide an overview of how the BBA has changed the TEFRA rules, and basic steps practitioners should consider taking when preparing partnership (and LLC) tax returns and handling partnership audits.
In addition, Governor Kay Ivey will provide an update on state initiatives as a part of the program at the 99th Annual Meeting.
