Sirote Attorney George M. “Jack” Neal, Jr. Elected to the 2018/2019 Alabama State Bar Dispute Resolution Section Board of Directors
Sirote Attorney George M. “Jack” Neal, Jr. was recently elected to the 2018/2019 Alabama State Bar Dispute Resolution Section (ASB DR Section) Board of Directors as Secretary Treasurer.
The ASB DR Section addresses various aspects of dispute resolution; negotiations, mediation, arbitration and other techniques to either resolve or simplify the resolution of disputes. The Section “exists to emphasize to both providers and users of legal services that the Alabama State Bar recognized the importance of efficient, cost effective resolution of disputes and the role of lawyers in that process.”
Jack has a professional reputation that has earned him a spot on the prestigious Best Lawyers in America© listing in five different areas. Selected as the Best Lawyers® 2014 “Lawyer of the Year” in Birmingham for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, he is a Shareholder in the Alternative Dispute Resolution, Bankruptcy & Creditor’s Rights and Litigation Practice Groups, where he practices in the areas of Arbitration, Mediation, Creditor’s Rights, Civil Trial Practice, Complex Commercial Litigation and Work Outs. He was named “Lawyer of the Year” in 2011-2012 by the Birmingham Chapter of the American Association of Legal Professions and served as president of the Birmingham Bar Association in 2009. He was a Bar Commissioner for the 10th Judicial Circuit for the maximum 9 years/3 terms. Jack also serves as both an arbitrator and a mediator in a broad range of civil disputes.
Jack has represented a diverse group of financial institutions, businesses and individuals, assisting them with issues involving enforcement of their contracts, defense of civil claims brought against them, lender liability, work outs, recovery of collateral and negotiations. He served on the board of trustees for the Birmingham Business Alliance, and currently is a member of the Birmingham Chapter of Rotary International.
