Sirote & Permutt’s Summer Associate Program is a first-half program starting in mid-May and ending the last of June. Students are required to work the full six weeks consecutively unless prior arrangements are approved by the Recruiting Committee.
Our Summer Program provides an excellent opportunity for summer associates to become acquainted with our attorneys and law firm culture. Each summer associate is assigned two mentors (typically one partner and one associate) who provide feedback on assignments, offer guidance, and encourage a productive overall experience at Sirote. Bi-weekly lunches are scheduled throughout the summer program to provide a more relaxed venue for attorney/summer associate interaction.
Assignments are monitored to ensure that no one is overburdened. While we expect each summer associate to be productive and work to their full capacity, we believe in providing an environment that encourages quality work over quantity of assignments completed.
We make every effort to assign work projects that will provide the summer associate with exposure to different practice areas. If a summer associate identifies a specific area of interest, extra effort is made to provide work assignments that will give them exposure to this area of law. They are provided the opportunity to attend trials, depositions, client conferences, closings, and civic and client development functions. We strive to provide a meaningful learning experience to each summer associate that will assist them in their law school studies and their legal career. And while a permanent job offer from Sirote isn’t a guarantee, each summer associate is hired with the goal of providing the hands-on experience that will help them become a more competitive candidate at the law firm of their choice upon graduation and passing the bar.
We balance our work environment with planned social events which include golf outings, spa visits, kickball tournaments, Baron’s games, small dinner parties hosted by partners and associates, and our annual Porch Party. Spontaneous events might include dinner and a movie, bowling, tennis tournaments, or an after-work drink.
Sirote’s Summer Program provides an opportunity for each summer associate to develop lasting friendships and a network of support and encouragement that will last throughout their legal career.
